The YMCA - Women Training program and partners WCLAC, WAC, DCA launched on Wednesday July 1, the advocacy campaign “Merathi Merathak” within the Inheritance Denied II Project: Promoting Palestinian women's social and economic rights through encouraging access to inheritance, a project funded by the European Union.

“Merathi Merathak” advocacy campaign aims to mobilize decision makers to promote the creation of a new department within the Ministry of Justice to ensure access to inheritance is guaranteed.
Shahnaz Jubran from the DCA opened the conference with a welcoming speech then the partners representatives explained the idea behind establishing the inheritance department and the need for it, it's role in limiting violations in accessing inheritance against different groups mainly women.
Moreover, the partners explained briefly to the journalists the procedures, policies and bylaws of the department, and briefed the attendees on the suggested structure of the Inheritance Department. At the end, a Q&A session was opened to answer all inquiries.
