The East Jerusalem YMCA – Rehabilitation Program organized Five workshops in Beit Sahour, Hebron, Nablus, Qalqiliya and Jenin with principals and teachers of governmental schools on Thursday 9th of October 2012 to discuss ex-detainee students return to school.

The workshops were organized as part of the Post-trauma Rehabilitation of Palestinian Ex-detainee ChildrenProgram which is implemented in partnership with Save the Children and funded by the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO). They aimed at raising public awareness of the issue of students' detention and modalities for cooperation among governmental schools to help those students return to their academic lives and help them build a better future.

The Programme, which commenced on March 2009, provides services to around 360 Children every year. It offers individual and group counseling for children in addition to educational and vocational counseling and ventilation activities. The Programme also offers them vocational assessment and assists them to get vocational training and remedial education accordingly.
